In this classroom-based course, healthcare professionals learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

In this classroom-based course, providers enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies, while earning their American Heart Association ACLS (AHA ACLS) for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card.

Due to an increasing number of low post scores in ACLS and PALS classes, we are changing class protocols and schedules.

  1. ECG & Pharmacology is considered a prerequisite for attending ACLS and PALS classes for the first time. (These courses are available but not required for those who have previously passed ACLS and PALS courses.)
  2. ACLS and PALS classes will still be offered in a two day format; however, any student who does not pass the post-test with at least an 84% or who does not demonstrate proficiency in the MegaCode skills test will be required to return the following day for a four hour remediation and repeat testing

This classroom-based course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest.
